Appendix E: APPX Environment Variables
Windows Variables
APPX_BIG_BUTTONS
Specifies that the "big button" GUI style should be used for the APPX Win32 client ("appx -c").
Valid values: 1
Default value: not set
APPX_NET_HASP
Specifies a network security HASP to login to. This variable was made obsolete by new HASP processing which is local, and does not use a HASP server, but is documented here for completeness.
Valid values: network security HASP server
Default value: not set
HASPTTY
Identifies the serial port that the HASP is attached to. To install a HASP on a Linux or SCO Unix system running on Intel (PC) hardware:
- Get a 25-pin to 9-pin serial port adapter. (The HASP has 25 pins; PC serial ports have 9 pins.)
- Install adapter and HASP onto PC serial port.
- Set the environment variable (in autoexec.bat, or in $APPXPATH\appx.env):
HASPTTY=/dev/cua0
(If you install the HASP on the second port of a 2-port PC, the address will be /dev/cua1.)
- Run APPX. No driver is needed. The serial number in the upper right hand box of the registration screen should match the HASP ID.
Valid values: /dev/cua0, /dev/cua1
Default value: not set
