Appendix E: APPX Environment Variables
Debugging - Security HASP
APPX_SS_CODE
Specifies the debug level for APPX_SS_LOG. When this variable is needed, it is almost always set to 0xFFFFFFFF.
Valid values: hex numbers between 0x00000000 and 0xFFFFFFFF
Default value: 0x00000000
APPX_SS_LOG
Specifies the log file name into which security HASP initialization and verification debug information is written. When APPX tells you it cannot find your HASP, or if you receive an invalid serial number message when trying to run APPX on a system using a HASP, use this log to gather more information about why it is failing. Among other things, it provides a record of what HASP serial number APPX sees on your system. If you set this, also set “APPX_SS_CODE=0xFFFFFFFF” so that APPX will log the maximum amount of debug information.
Sample Output:
Calling for INIT_CRYPT_SYS...returned 32
Calling for GET_HASP_ID...returned 32 (id=7)
A return code of ‘32’ means the environment variable HASPTTY was not set.
A return code of ‘129’ means the OpenHASP key was not found.
Valid values: path to a write-enabled log file
Default value: not set
