Appendix E: APPX Environment Variables
Unix-Based APPX Client Variables
These five variables are used when running the Unix-based APPX/Client. They exist because Unix is unable to pop up the login box, as Windows-based Clients can.
APPX_HOST
Specifies the APPX server hostname to connect to. This hostname must be running appxd (Unix) or WinAppxD (Windows). This variable is used in conjunction with the APPX_USER, APPX_PSWD and APPX_PORT variables.
Valid values: hostname running appxd or WinAppxD
Default value: not set
APPX_PORT
Specifies the port to connect to on APPX_HOST, to begin an APPX Presentation Server client session. WinAppxD (Windows) or appxd (Unix) must be running on this port on APPX_HOST for the connection to succeed. This variable is used in conjunction with the APPX_USER, APPX_PSWD and APPX_HOST variables.
Valid values: port number on APPX_HOST where appxd or WinAppxD is running
Default value: not set
APPX_PSWD
Specifies the password used to authenticate APPX_USER on the remote system APPX_HOST. This variable is used in conjunction with the APPX_USER, APPX_HOST and APPX_PORT variables.

Default value: not set

Triggers keyboard mapping if set to 1. This environment variable is used in Unix only.
