Chapter 4: Read APPX Data with WinSQL

Connect WinSQL and Read COUNTRY

  1. Open WinSQL64. Its installation can be under Program Files (x86) despite the executable being 64-bit; inspect the actual executable.
  2. Select AppxODBC, enter your authorized login and connect.
  3. Execute SELECT * FROM DMO_DMO_COUNTRY ORDER BY name.
  4. Check eight rows and all nine fields against the native expected result.
  5. Run SELECT * FROM DMO_DMO_PROSPECT ORDER BY prospect_no when checking the imported PROSPECT definition.

The fresh native WinSQL64 grids show eight COUNTRY and ten PROSPECT rows with the Unicode text failure. A count-only query is useful for connectivity but cannot pass value acceptance.
