Chapter 2: Install and Check APPX ODBC
Start the Gateway and Check Required Microsoft Files
Start and Check the Gateway
Open an administrator CMD window and inspect the Windows background service:
sc.exe qc "Appx ODBC Data Gateway Server for Windows" sc.exe query "Appx ODBC Data Gateway Server for Windows" netstat -ano | findstr :1992
Confirm that BINARY_PATH_NAME selects the intended 64-bit executable under Program Files, and associate its PID with the listener. The tested executable is 6.2.1.0, SHA-256 5E456669E73870E8931A26DF687066F5B79E7256F92C990973EBC030BBC0EE3D.
The local test began with an older 32-bit gateway service still registered. Its retained path required an explicit correction before the current tests. That installation over an older gateway did not establish a supported replacement-installer defect. Follow the uninstall-first procedure and inspect the result on your computer.
If a Component Will Not Start
Do not copy a 5.5.3/5.5.4 missing-library repair into this edition automatically. Check the actual missing filename and architecture if a component fails to load. Use matching official Microsoft runtime packages rather than unrelated DLL-download sites.
