Chapter 4: The Application Translator
Setting the Design Language
The printed heading reads SETTING THE DESIGN LANGAUGE.
Only one version of an Application Design is maintained. These program, or design, files are written in what has been designated the Design Language. A Design Language must be defined for each application if translation is to occur. To set the Design Language:
- Select
Application Design,Utilities,Application Parameters. - Enter the
Base Language IDand pressENTERto return.
Warning: If you do not perform this step then the following step, creating the dictionary from the applications design files, will appear to run properly but will not, however, add any entries to the dictionary because the process is unable to determine what this application’s design language is.
