Why Doesn’t ASQL Generate Foreign Keys?

If you enable Expert Mode in asql, you can force it to generate foreign keys when importing the file definitions. Generally, this isn’t done for two reasons:

• This may force the client database to perform integrity checks that aren’t desirable.
• Most RDBMS would expect an index on the target table, and that is not common in APPX applications, therefore there would probably be a performance penalty when the table was updated.

However, if you are sure you want the foreign keys, you can enable Expert Mode and force asql to define them.
