Chapter 6: Create Reports with Crystal Reports 2016

Install Crystal Reports 2016

Use SAP Crystal Reports 2016, 32-bit for this driver. The tested package is 2016 SP9 Patch 21, with crw32.exe version 14.2.9.5104.

  1. Obtain the installer and a trial or licensed product key through the official SAP Crystal Reports page.
  2. Run the installer as administrator, select the required language, check the prerequisites, and follow the license and product-key screens.
  3. Choose Typical, complete installation, and select Finish.
  1. Start SAP Crystal Reports 2016. The evaluation message confirms a 30-day trial; select OK and dismiss the information notice.

Keep SAP credentials and product key private. Crystal Reports 2020 and 2025 use a different bitness and are outside this 32-bit recipe.

For an earlier gateway, use its own provider procedure: 5.5.2 uses an ODBC (RDO) SQL command with the supplied Dharma 9.01 x86 driver, while 5.5.1 uses the Microsoft OLE DB-to-ODBC bridge. The 5.5.2 command test does not accept direct table selection. Keep each result with its matching engine/gateway/ASQL and tested client.
