Deleting A Record

To delete a record from a file, you need to perform the following actions:

  • Retrieve the record you want to delete by using Scan or by entering the record's key value and selecting OK or Enter OK. Verify that the displayed record is the correct one.
  • If you have the correct record and you are not already in delete mode, select Delete mode Delete.
  • Select Acknowledge Delete Ack Del. Until you perform this final step, the record is not deleted from the file.

Alternatively, you can do the steps in the following order:

  • If you are not already in delete mode, select Delete mode Delete.
  • Retrieve the record you want to delete by using Scan or by entering the record's key value and selecting OK or Enter OK. Verify that the displayed record is the correct one.
  • If you have the correct record, select Acknowledge Delete Ack Del. Until you perform this final step, the record is not deleted from the file.
