Chapter 3: Getting Started in APPX
Introduction
After signing on to your terminal and entering APPX, the first screen you will normally see is a menu. To initiate any activity, select the appropriate button from this menu. Since the first screen you see is controlled by your system administrator, it is possible that it will not be a menu but, for example, an input process. In some installations, you may first have to select from among more than one database. For example, your job may require you to maintain separate files for two different companies. In this case, you need to select the database you are going to work on during a particular session. After providing this information, you will see the first menu for that database.
Thereafter, what you see on your terminal depends on what functions the application contains and which options you select. Later in this manual, the different types of processes you may encounter in an application are described.
