Chapter 2: The APPX Environment

Your Computer, Terminal, and Printer

APPX runs on many different types of computers. In addition, most computer terminals can have alternate styles of keyboards. As a result, there are many possible layouts of keys on your keyboard. The same is true with printers; many types of printers are available, each with features that may differ from model to model. If you are not already familiar with your terminal and printer, you should contact your system administrator for assistance.

As discussed previously, you navigate through APPX applications by using various options represented by buttons or icons. Additionally, special functions are performed with special function keys. A particular function on one type of keyboard may correspond to a different key on another keyboard. You need to know which key or keys to press to select each APPX function. Refer to your keymap diagram or consult your system administrator for questions about selecting APPX functions on your keyboard. See Appendix A for the GUI Client Keymap used when APPX is being run as a GUI client on a PC.
