Purchase and License ChartDirector

ChartDirector can be tested without a license key; the image then includes a yellow evaluation bar. Purchase the license appropriate to your deployment and follow the vendor's license installation instructions.

For a Developer License, place the supplied key in an ASCII text file named exactly chartdir.lic. Check that the editor has not appended .txt. The vendor's preferred locations are:

Operating system	License file
Linux	`/etc/chartdir.lic`
Windows	The Windows directory, normally `C:\Windows\chartdir.lic`; use `$env:windir` to identify it

If you cannot write to that system directory, the vendor permits placing the file beside the active libchartdir.so on Linux or chartdir.dll on Windows. With this cookbook's absolute-path installation, that is the selected ChartDirector/lib directory. Give the APPX runtime identity read access and keep the key private. Start a fresh PHP invocation and render a new chart to confirm the evaluation marker has disappeared. Follow the vendor's specific instructions for upgrade keys or redistribution licenses. Preserve the license during upgrades. APPX registration and ChartDirector licensing are separate.
