Chapter 7: Operate and Maintain the Installation
Upgrade PHP or ChartDirector
- Record PHP, ChartDirector and APPX versions, package hashes, php.ini and chart parameters.
- Stage the new PHP or complete ChartDirector library in a separate directory.
- Select the extension for the new PHP minor version and thread-safety setting.
- Run the standalone test as the APPX identity.
- Re-run a 1CD sample, an application chart and a PDF report. Compare data, labels and dimensions.
- Switch the controlled executable or library setting and establish new sessions.
- Keep the prior installation until rollback has been checked.
A maintenance update within the same PHP minor version uses that extension family: PHP 8.3 uses the 830 extension, and PHP 8.5 uses 850. A move to a different PHP minor release requires a matching vendor extension and repeat the checks. Keep the wrapper phpchartdir.php and native libraries from the same ChartDirector distribution.
