Include the Chart in a PDF Report

Use the same server-picture technique in an APPX OUTPUT image. Render the chart before the image that prints it, pass the successful pathname to the picture field, and produce a PDF through the normal APPX report workflow. Open the saved PDF independently and inspect the chart title, labels, aspect ratio and printed size.

Increase the PNG's dimensions when the printed area needs more detail. For example, a 1,200-pixel-wide chart printed 6 inches wide supplies 200 pixels per inch. Judge small text in the actual PDF at its intended size. Generating a large PNG does not by itself establish that the report layout is readable.

Keep the PNG until report generation and any background printing have finished. Deleting it immediately after the render call can leave the report without its image.
