Chapter 1: Before You Start
Identify the Server, Ports and Connection Names
| Setting | Value in this cookbook | Value to use |
|---|---|---|
| APPX login-manager endpoint | localhost:31054 | The APPX server and its configured login-manager port |
| APPX Windows interface | Pipe | The Pipe configuration tested here |
| ODBC gateway endpoint | localhost:1992 | The gateway server and its verified listening port |
| Gateway SQL dictionary | appx | The default dictionary created by the gateway installer |
| Windows System DSN | AppxODBC | The same DSN in every client recipe |
| APPX Database ID / Application ID | DMO / DMO | The installed DMO sample IDs |
| Imported SQL table | DMO_DMO_COUNTRY | The COUNTRY table created by ASQL |
localhost means the computer running the program. On a separate Windows client, replace the DSN's Host with the gateway server's hostname. The gateway dictionary's APPX_DATA_SERVER identifies the APPX server, which can be a different computer.
