APPX/Sybase Interface Troubleshooting

Issue: New (or newly upgraded) Sybase installations may have trouble when CREATE'ing Sybase tables under APPX.

To fix this, look to see if you have the file:

   $SYBASE/locales/us_english/iso_1/ctlib.loc

This file, which is needed for the APPX/Sybase interface, is shipped with the Sybase Development Set. Therefore, most end-user sites are "extremely" (in our developer's words) unlikely to have it. The best source for this file, presuming that you are a VAR or Consultant, is the installation on your own system. If that isn't convenient to you right now, or you don't have access to the Development Set, here are our copies of it for HP-UX and IBM AIX which may work for you (we do not guarantee it, given the many combinations of OS and Sybase versions):

• HP-UX Sybase ctlib.loc
• AIX Sybase ctlib.loc

   $SYBASE/locales/us_english/iso_1/ctlib.loc

(If you have to manually FTP it from your PC to your server, make sure that you FTP it as a binary file, not in ASCII/Text mode)
