Object Specifications

If you are editing an existing object or adding a new object, APPX presents a number of specification screens that establish various operational and display attributes, as well as data lookup definitions.

The item screen contains specifications that relate to the appearance of a data dictionary field on an input, output, or inquiry image. When using the GUI Image Editor to add or change image items, the various item specifications that you can define are identical to those found in the character based version of the Image Editor. The gui attributes option on the Item Specifications overlay contains fields that vary depending on the type of field (alphanumeric, numeric, date, or logic) and is only available for menu and input process fields. These fields are used to define graphical attributes such as widgets, font characteristics and colors. See the Defining Graphical Attributes For Image Fields section in Chapter 3-17, Graphical Attributes.

For complete details, refer to the Item Specifications section in Chapter 3-14, Using the Character Based Image Editor.
