.TEXT CUT AT POS

This subroutine removes characters from a text/alpha field.


Usage:

      PASS         <text_field>               FIELD            SHARE? Y
      PASS         <start_cut>                FIELD            SHARE? N
      PASS         <len_cut>                  FIELD            SHARE? N
      PASS         <cut_field>                FIELD            SHARE? Y
      GOSUB    --- .TEXT CUT AT POS
      *        Check for errors
      IF       --- .TEXT CUT AT POS           NE

Description:

This subroutine removes characters from a text/alpha field. The first 3 parameters are required. If any required parameters are missing, the subroutine will CANCEL.

<text_field> is the field from which you want the characters removed (Required). This must be PASSed with Share "Y" to return the value.

<start_cut> is the starting position of the characters to be removed (Required).

<len_cut> is the number of characters to be removed (Required).

<cut_field> returns the characters that were removed (Optional). This must be PASSed with Share "Y" to return the value.

Note: This subroutine is designed to operate on Alpha, Text, and Token fields only. The returned results are undefined if you specify any other type of field.
