Description:

This subroutine fills a field with a single character. The first 2 parameters are required. If any required parameters are missing, the subroutine will CANCEL.

<text_field> is the field you want filled with <pad_char> (Required). This must be PASSed with Share "Y" to return the value.

<pad_char> is the character to fill with (Required).

<pad_length> is the number of characters to place into <text_field> (Optional). The default is to fill the entire field.

Note that this does not append the <pad_char> to <text_field>, it completely replaces any existing data in <text_field>.

Release 6.0 & higher support text fields up to 1M in size.

Note: This subroutine is designed to operate on Alpha, Text, and Token fields only. The returned results are undefined if you specify any other type of field.
