The Components of a Statement
The previous example demonstrates a few of the statements. The following are some common items of information that you specify when you define a statement:
- True/false indicators
- A keyword (SET, COMPUTE, IF, etc.)
- Field names (always associated with a specific application and, if appropriate, occurrence and appearance numbers)
- File names
- Constant values
- Relationals (such as EQ and GT)
- Arithmetic operators (such as + and -)
