GUI Image Editor

The APPX image editor allows you to create menu and input images containing a variety of graphical components. These images, such as the one shown in Figure 3-15-1, are designed using the mouse as the primary design tool instead of the keyboard. The Image Editor has many useful design tools but the Data Palette is the Image Editor’s most important tools because it allows you to interactively view the dictionary of database components, select them, and "drag" them onto your screen image.

The instructions contained in this chapter relate only to the use of the Image Editor and the painting of an image. Other graphical components can be added to menu processes and input processes at the frame, image, or field level without the use of the Image Editor. These components include wallpapers, title bars, menu bar items, toolbar items, icons, and other features that are not part of the actual "image" you paint. Instructions for adding these components can be found in Chapter 17, Graphical Attributes.
