Introduction to Query Processes

Query processes:

· Determine the records that are available to a subsequent input, update, or output process.

· Establish the order selected records are retrieved in for display or processing.

Query processes have special rules with respect to "inheritance" of work fields and temporary work files among APPX processes. (See Chapter 1-5, "Interprocess Communications" for more information on inheritance) Please see the description under "PROCESS CODE", in chapter 4-7 (Predefined Fields and Processes) for a more detailed explanation of the special inheritance rules with respect to Query processing.
