The RUN Statement
The RUN statement allows you to invoke other programs with which APPX does not need to share information. For example, you could run a word processing program that is available on your computer system. Or, you could run a command editor available within your operating system. You can think of the RUN statement as an initiator of an entirely different program, to which APPX gives full operational control. The program that was run cannot stay resident in memory after it completes execution.
