Chapter 1-1: Overview of Application Design
Integrated Documentation
APPX allows you to generate a comprehensive set of documentation for an application without having to leave the normal development environment. In many application design environments, documentation is written after the application is complete using facilities separate from the primary design tool. With APPX, documentation is written concurrently; therefore, when the application is complete, so is the documentation.
There is another way to use the documentation facility if your environment calls for producing a specification of formalized requirements. You can use the documentation screens as a tool to specify all the requirements that the application must meet, without actually developing the entire application during the first pass. At the end of this definitional phase, you are able to generate a comprehensive requirements document suitable for review and approval by designers or end users.
