A LogMonitor is a special background process that records changes in data files. It is controlled using the same mechanisms as appxLoginMgr. Using FMS groups, you define what you want monitored, and then you assign that FMS group to the file(s) you want monitored.

For added security, you can run the LogMonitor on a completely separate server, in a secured area. This would help prevent physical access to the log files.
