Though performance maybe in enhanced if Unicode fields are aligned on 4-byte boundary, the previous error message is no longer presented to the developer. If you would prefer to have the previous error message behavior, you can set the environmental variable APPX_CHECK_UNICODE_ALIGNMENT=TRUE.
