APPX ODBC 5.5.2 Cookbook - offline examples Read the cookbook before connecting or running a helper. These examples were checked with the matching APPX 5.5.2 engine/gateway, supplied Dharma 9.01 x86 driver, default AppxODBC DSN and appx dictionary. Client and driver must be 32-bit. Gateway port 1990 and APPX backend port 31053 are separate connections. Leave the optional ODBC Service field empty. Blank uses the sqlnw TCP alias; check C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\services on each client for the correct "sqlnw 1990/tcp" mapping. Service is different from Services.msc, which manages Windows background programs. A saved workbook/report can override the DSN, so clear an old Service value in that connection too. query-appx-country-32.ps1: credential prompt, count and sample display. read-appx-odbc-32.ps1: object results, positional parameters, metadata, connection details, timeouts and row limits. Open 32-bit Windows PowerShell. Use the site's approved execution policy and keep passwords out of commands. COUNTRY.sql: the qualified read-only Base query used in the cookbook. Select Edit > Run SQL command directly in Base; parsed SQL/table browse failed. The saved COUNTRY query retains direct SQL mode. Omit a trailing semicolon. COUNTRY-report.sql: the four-column direct command for Crystal Reports. COUNTRY-expected.csv: seven checked sample records and all nine fields. Character padding is trimmed; nulls are empty CSV fields; dates use ISO text. COUNTRY-columns.csv: the nine columns returned by the focused Describe query. Reported Size is ODBC metadata, not an APPX physical record offset or length. APPX-552-COUNTRY.odb: Base connection to AppxODBC, with saved query COUNTRY. APPX-552-COUNTRY.ods: Calc import at Sheet1.A1:I8, including column headings. The ODB contains no business-record database; its query reads through ODBC. The ODS contains the checked sample snapshot. Refresh requires a live gateway. No saved password is included. Enter your own authorized APPX login when asked. To use the Calc workbook in another LibreOffice profile, open Tools > Options > LibreOffice Base > Databases. Register the accompanying ODB under exactly APPX-552-COUNTRY, selecting its new local path. Then open the ODS, select a cell in the imported range and use Data > Refresh Range. The name must match. Use the 32-bit LibreOffice process; an existing 64-bit process cannot use the 32-bit DSN. The tested LibreOffice x86 executable is version 26.2.6.3. No installers, license keys, credentials or internal test scripts are included. Access import did not pass with this supplied 5.5.2 driver. Repeating it did not fix the failure. Successful PowerShell and LibreOffice tests are separate. SHA256SUMS.txt covers every public example and this README. The scripts-only ZIP is retained for readers of the earlier edition. The offline ZIP contains the complete set. PDF viewers may require their Attachments panel to save files. Attachments do not run automatically.
