A printer is identified on the disposition screen that may be presented to the user after any record selection or sorting options. That printer ID is a key to the Printers file in System Administration. The print queue subsequently used is determined by the printer defined by the System ID field in the Printers file for that Printer ID. This should exactly equal the name of a printer identified in Control Panel, Printers in Windows. This field is both case sensitive and spacing sensitive.
A program named ‘winprint.exe’ connects the print file generated by APPX with the Windows print spooler. ‘winprint.exe’ supports a number of keywords, printer and/or form control options, standard Windows form names, and certain paper sources. A description of these items is included in this appendix, along with a discussion of printer driver issues.
