The Arithmetic Operator

The arithmetic operator component includes the four basic arithmetic operator signs and two hash symbols:

�    + (plus)

�    - (minus)

�    * (multiply by)

�    / (divide by)

�    P (hash-plus or -add)

�    M (hash-minus or -subtract)

A hash total allows you to validate the accuracy of certain fields. For example, you can sum the numeric equivalent of a customer number field as a check on operator input.
