Security
Security refers to the facility through which programs and data are protected from unauthorized access and/or modification. Within the APPX environment, security is optional, and can be implemented or modified any time during the life of an application.
There are two phases of APPX security: design and implementation. Each of these are the responsibility of different functions within your organization.
A designer establishes what to protect.
A security administrator determines who needs access to secured components of applications, and in what combinations.
Each process permits the specification of an Execute Security Code. Only those users who have rights to the security code are permitted to execute the process. Refer to the Database Security section of this manual for an overview of APPX security and a discussion of data security. Refer to the System Management Manual for a discussion of security implementation.
