APPX Data Dictionary

A data dictionary is a repository for definitions of an application’s data structures. In APPX, these definitions include both specifications (such as a file’s Descriptive Name or a field’s Length) and supporting documentation.

APPX’s data dictionary is the cornerstone of application development. All processes operate on the basis of, and are subject to the specifications entered for, elements in the data dictionary. Dictionary specifications provide information and defaults for, or impose restrictions on, the database management facility.
