The Components of a Statement

The previous example demonstrates a few of the statements. The following are some common items of information that you specify when you define a statement:

·     True/false indicators

·     A keyword (SET, COMPUTE, IF, etc.)

·     Field names (always associated with a specific application and, if appropriate, occurrence and appearance numbers)

·     File names

·     Constant values

·     Relationals (such as EQ and GT)

·     Arithmetic operators (such as + and -)
