Categories of PDFs

There are five categories of predefined fields:

·     Current status PDFs, which provide information about the current runtime environment, such as the current user ID.

·     Process control PDFs, which limit or affect an operation within the application.

·     Terminal management PDFs, which can be used to control and provide information about the current cursor position.

·     Report management PDFs, which can be used to control and provide information about the disposition and production of reports, such as the print destination.

·     General purpose PDFs are used as index work variables or work fields in ILF statements.
