Automatic Data Lookup and Display

Data lookups link a field in one file to additional data in a related file by means of a key field in the related file. In other words, they tell APPX how to access another file during process execution. You define a lookup with the image editor as an integral part of defining an item on an image.

For example, you may enter a customer number on an order image. If you want to automatically include additional descriptive information (such as the customer’s name) on the image, you can do so with a data lookup to the customer file. See Chapter 3-14 or 3-15 on using the Image Editor, for additional information.
