The APPX Process Facility

Processes are the reusable software building blocks that, taken together and in conjunction with the data dictionary, comprise APPX applications. Each consists of the specifications, painted formats (images), and procedural routines (statements) that are required to perform a specific activity.

A process is similar to a program in traditional data processing systems in that it is:

·    Executed to perform one or more related functions or activities.

·    Comprised of a series of detailed instructions that are performed in a specified sequence.

·    The smallest unit of an application that can execute separately.
