Default Value Records

A default value record, created during compilation of the dictionary, includes the default values optionally established by the designer for each field in a file. APPX uses the default value record as a modifiable starting point on an input screen, for example, or to initialize a record before setting selected fields and writing the record to a file.

Default value records are maintained by APPX; they are not stored in the data file.
